Ryan Jacob Bradford
Message from the President
Dec. 15, 2015
Dear LMU Community:
I am saddened by the news of the death of our first-year student, Ryan Jacob Bradford. I mourn his passing and grieve the loss of his contributions to our community. Ryan has forever earned a place in our hearts and minds. His name will be added to the student memorial near Sacred Heart Chapel, which honors those students who died during their time at LMU.
We are secure in the belief that Ryan’s immortal soul endures as we comfort one another. The “weight of grief,” as Shakespeare phrased it, is overcome by our joy of having had Ryan in our lives, however briefly.
Mourning the death of a student is perhaps the hardest thing we do as a university community. Gathering together as a community is important as we share the burden of this loss. This evening, there will be a short prayer service in Huesman Chapel at 8:30 p.m. Additional arrangements and memorial services will be shared in the coming days.
Please keep Ryan, his family, and his friends in your thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,
Timothy Law Snyder, Ph.D.
President
